Dances of India
Dances of India is a dance production directed and organized by Alina Deshpande. She weaves Indian classical and folk dances into adaptations of well known stories like Cinderella and Aladdin to create annual productions that benefit various charities annually. In 2021, Dances of India presented "The Wizard of Mumbai". Various groups perform in these productions, the primary one being Alina's Kathak class offered at the Los Alamos YMCA. Other groups include the Y Bharatnatyam class taught by Kavita Nandkishore, a belly dance group led by Neslihan Ceren and several guest dancers and actors from the community. Dances of India has been in existence since 2010.
